Julius Caesar was one of the greatest rulers who ever lived. With Julius ruling Rome, Rome took over many more countries than before. He died a tragic death, I will tell you what happened over the period of his lifetime.
Caesar was born on July of 100 B.C.,he was born in a suburb of Rome, Subaru. Julius grew up going to school and was very smart. His family was fairly wealthy and was involved in politics. When he was little he dreamed of being in the senate and having a lot of power. He grew up in a time of civil war and unrest. When Caesar was 15 years old his father died and he was very depressed but he got over it.
When he was about to be an adult he decided he had to marry into a more distinguished family, he wanted to marry into the Marion family, the were very wealthy and had power. The senate did not want anyone to marry into that family because they did not want to overthrown Caesar was arrested but got out quickly with the help of his friends. He got out of the prison and decided he wanted to enlist in the military. He went into the military and was an officer in Asia minor. After a little bit in the military Caesar got elected to be the chief of the religious office. He made many good achievements. He still wanted power though and now he was ready for it. He ran for one of the consuls and got elected, a lot of people knew him now. The other consul at that time was Bibulus.
Not just Caesar wanted power though, other people were, the generalissimo Gnaeus Pompeius, better known as Pompey, and rich banker Marcus Licinius Crassus. They all wanted power. Crassus died an unfortunate death and that left Caesar to control the west side and Pompey the east side. The Senate favored Pompey over Caesar but Caesar wanted to rule. This lead to war between Caesar’s military against Pompey's. Caesar’s military defeated Pompey’s military. The Senate then crowned him dictator for life. As dictator Caesar made many great achievements and brought Rome fame and wealth. He then died a tragic death.
Caesar was a great ruler who helped Rome in many different ways. Just take a moment to think what our civilization would be like without him. This is not the end of Rome though, we will gain more land and invent new things. Caesar will be remembered forever.
